Believe it or not, I witnessed this scene just a few days ago about two hundred yards from my house. I had been thinking about what I wanted to paint next for this week’s postcard and as I stopped by the gas station on my way home the rain ended (at least for a few hours) and there it was. This rainbow was reaching down right next to the big tree behind our future historical museum site. What a beautiful and inspirational event! The color in my painting is much better than what I have been able to reproduce with my computer. Of course, the color of the real scene is probably better that what I have been able to paint.
