Bluebonnet at Walker’s Hill
Postcards from Texas(A Painting A Week)

With bluebonnet season upon us I thought this would be a good subject to kick off my series of “Postcards from Texas,” but I couldn’t bring myself to paint the typical field of bluebonnets with the tree on the left and the road leading up to the farmhouse. This symmetrical juxtaposition of the bluebonnet with the hill behind is reminiscent of a couple of Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings. The location is on Ray and Mary Walker’s place about three miles south of Nocona. Hope you enjoy the scene. I welcome your comments.
